The Cumberland-Lincoln Community Chorus and their fabulous teen Apprentices proudly present America Sings! This year's show is a retrospective of uniquely American music that reflects American culture over the past 200 years.
The program explores American choral music from William Billings (Revolutionary War era) to the modern era, Samuel Barber, Aaron Copeland and Leonard Bernstein. Highlights include a variety of cultural styles including music from ranging from jazz to bluegrass, pop to "classical." The Chorus will be joined by a foot-stomping band featuring the banjo, fiddle, drums, bass, saxophone and flute.
Partnering with CLCC for the first time are the children of the OCYL Cumberland Chorus. This youth chorus will perform several of their own songs in addition to joining with the CLCC in singing This Land is Your Land. This eclectic two hour show will delight and entertain the entire family! A 50-50 raffle will be held at intermission.
Shows are Saturday, May 30 at 7:30 PM and Sunday, May 31 at 3 PM. Tickets are $12 and may be purchased at the door or by calling the Stadium Theatre Box Office at 762-4545. For more details, please contact Robin at 401-232-2514 or visit CLCC's website at www.clccmusic.org
