Day of Science & Careers April 22, 2013

Are you just graduating, completing a Ph.D., or thinking of a career in the chemical or related industries or maybe contemplating a change of career?

If your answer is yes, then the Day of Science & Careers event is for you. It has been designed with those embarking on a career in mind and focuses particularly on informing about the wide range of careers covered in the chemical and chemical using industries.

Talks range from starting out in academia and in industry, working in both bioscience and chemical SMEs (small and medium enterprises), to careers in multinational pharmaceuticals and bioscience companies and even working in Government. You will find out about possible opportunities and routes through the speakers’ careers.

The formal part concludes with ‘Reflections on working in a pharma multinational and now for the Medical Research Council’ and ‘Tips on Getting that First Job’.

You will also get to hear from SCI Scholars, who will present the latest results from their research work. You will have the opportunity to ask questions individually to our speakers and network over wine and nibbles at the end of the day.

This is a FREE event and is open to all, both SCI members and non-members, but places are limited so early application to awards@soci.org is advisable.
