DecemberFest Kick-Off November 20, 2009

Mt. Airy, USA and the Mt. Airy Business Association kick-off the holiday shopping season with a grand celebration to encourage Philadelphians to ‘shop local.’ At center stage are a Brazilian Drum Line and business district leaders talking up the revitalized historic business district on Germantown Avenue—with $1/4 million in storefront renovations just completed and a multi-million dollar streetscape improvement project installation in early 2010.

For every $100 spent at a neighborhood business, $45 goes back into the community, vs. $14 from big box stores.

Shoppers who spend $250+ in Mt. Airy from Nov. 20 through Jan. 8 receive a $25 gift certificate.
