The works of composer Richard Rodgers and lyricist Lorenz Hart will be the subject of the Douglas Morrisson Theatre’s upcoming production of "Rodgers & Hart: A Celebration," which opens on May 20 and runs through June 12. Directed by Michael Ryken, the musical revue will star Kevin Euler, Charles Evans, William Giammona, Heather Hall, Laura Morgan, and Jenifer Tice.
The amazingly creative team of Rodgers & Hart, who collaborated on 28 musicals from 1919 to 1943, left the American musical theatre with some of its most memorable songs. Their work has been performed and recorded by many cabaret singers and jazz artists, including Ella Fitzgerald, who released an album in 1956, and Andrea Marcovicci, who based one of her cabaret acts entirely on Rodgers and Hart songs.
