Drumlin Farm Community Preschool Announces Open House! - - Saturday, December4 and Saturday, January 8, 2011, 10:00 am - Noon - At our 218 Lincoln Road Farmhouse and our Nature Center Classroom - - Drumlin Farm Community Preschool invites parents and their preschool-age children to learn about our unique nature-based preschool. Our program, which is licensed by the Department of Early Education and Care, allows children to safely explore and learn in the farm yard, forests, fields, and wetlands of the Sanctuary. Wildlife visitors, including reptiles, birds, and small mammals visit the classroom, adding dimension to our thematic units. Outdoor explorations, nature play and farm chores provide cooperative hands-on learning experiences. Our emergent literacy and math curriculum is taught with nature as the backdrop as we make discoveries through the changing New England seasons. Classroom activities include group meeting time, dramatic play, cooking, art projects and science observations. We are currently accepting applications for the 2011-2012 school year, which runs from September to June. Children must be 3 years old by September 1, 2011.
