This multimedia presentation will explore the effects of "Drums and Poems" on two groups of urban children. Does communal poetry-making help girls assert their opinions and creativity in class? Does playing with words help boys and girls define writing as fun? Does the program help English language learners develop confidence in speaking and writing?
