This January Tin Lily Productions, a Brooklyn based performance company, will be performing the play EAT by Dutch playwright Matin van Veldhuizen. EAT is a darkly comic play which follows the course of one evening when three sisters are coming together on the anniversary of their mother’s death. As the evening progresses, the three begin to reminisce, attack and drink until the unmentionable tension of their familial history and sisterly bonds get laid bare. EAT is a raw and aggressive play that investigates the obsessive relationships we have with sex, drink, food, and family. Staying in line with Tin Lily’s mission, this production will incorporate alternate media in the form of projected rapid-fire photomontage that punctuates the rhythmic language of the play while calling attention to the “unmentionable” topics that are avoided by the sisters throughout. Featuring Annie Harper Branson, Tai Verley, and Hollis Witherspoon. Directed by Jillian Johnson. Photography by Jason Covert - Makeup by Veronica Reid - Costumes by Melinda Huff.
