Enlightenment, Nonduality, & You February 1, 2010

Theosophical Society's Guest Speaker on Feb. 1st is Eric Putkonen from Awaken to Life

In this talk, Eric Putkonen (Awaken2Life.org) will speak on Enlightenment in terms of Nonduality. The basic premise being that there are "not two" things and the appearance of separation or "otherness" is an illusion. Much of the talk will focus on this illusion and seeing through it, for seeing through this illusion (of a separate me in the great big world) is Enlightenment. Enlightenment is seeing what is as it is...without the interference, colored lenses, or blinders of the thinking mind. As such, we will also cover a basic exercise in becoming present...here and now...which automatically calms the mind.

7-9 pm Monday, Feb. 1 at First Unitarian Society, 900 Mt. Curve Ave., Minneapolis. We will be meeting in the Dietrich Room, which is near the entrance on the first floor (opposite side of the hall from the office).
