The artwork of James Burnes is a product of its place. Each sculpture is inspired by the area in which it is to be placed. Most works are life-sized, or larger, and featured fallen wood and large stones from the selected area. "Flaco," created in 2010, is a life-sized horse sculpture, created with CorTen steel and wood, and sealed to protect the artwork from elemental decay.
