TWO PLANES FROM PAUL G. ALLEN’S FLYING HERITAGE COLLECTION TAKES FLIGHT AT PAINE FIELD FOR THE FINAL “FREE” FLY DAY OF THE SUMMER

Two legendary German World War II planes from the Flying Heritage Collection—a Messerschmitt Bf 109E-3 Emil and a Fieseler Fi 156-C2 Storch—will return to the sky for this season’s final ‘Fly Day’ at Paine Field. The Flying Heritage Collection will cap off its final flight of the season with Luftwaffe Day, a commemoration of the museum’s German planes and artifacts.

For the final Summer Fly Day, the Flying Heritage Collection will display and fire two of its Flak 37 anti-aircraft guns. The Flak 37 is a rugged, hard-hitting and adaptable 88 mm gun that was the most famous artillery weapon of World War II.
