Forestry Talk & Tour June 4, 2011

Walk through a variety of woodlots with Carl Wiedermann and Mike Greason, both retired DEC foresters and volunteers with the New York State Forest Owners Association. On their tour, they will talk about New York's forestry and land use history. They will also address today's best options for forests, active management of the forest to enhance its health, ownership costs, preserving the rural character of our land, and the effects of both wildlife and invasive species on the landscape. There will be plenty of time to ask questions and discuss issues related to forestry in New York State.
