The Motel Shops at the Loveless Café present their Spring Artisan Fair on April 18 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Local artists from Ruthie Cherry Fine Art and Shimai Pottery and Gifts will be on hand to show new works and demonstrate their unique talents, while Sara Carmody and Friends Jazz Band enliven the festivities.
At Shimai, visitors can join in making bowls with Becca Ganick. On hand with new works will be stained glass artist Bethany Reiser and jewelry artists Nola Jane,
Ramsey Hall and Carmen Sanchez.
Liorah Johnson, the newest artisan at Ruthie Cherry Fine Art, will be offering handcrafted works of wearable art. Local artist Thalia Kahl will be demonstrating her latest passion of painting portraits of four-legged family friends.
Mary Spellings will travel from her Jackson-area home to exhibit her award-winning watercolor technique. Ray Sandusky will be turning wood into works of art, and Mary Ellen Sligh will show how beautifully landscapes can be coaxed from acrylics. Vicki Sawyer will bring along a new menagerie of life-like birds painted with whimsy and humor.
