Children's Miracle Network Joins Forces With IHOP In Celebration Of National Pancake Day

WHO: Cliff and Mitzy Moore, owners of the Keyport and Neptune IHOP’s invite you in for a FREE Short Stack of Pancakes on February 24th. The Keyport IHOP is located at 106 Route 36 and the Neptune IHOP is located at 2200 Route 66.

WHAT: IHOP’s National Pancake Day Celebration benefiting Children’s Miracle Network and other local charities.

On Tuesday, Feb. 24, IHOP restaurants nationwide will celebrate National Pancake Day from 7a.m. to 10 p.m. and offer each guest a free short stack (three) of buttermilk pancakes. In return IHOP will ask guests to donate what they would have paid for the free pancakes, or more, to Children’s Miracle Network or other local charities.
This year, IHOP restaurants around the country are hoping to stack up more donations than ever before. IHOP’s goal is to raise $1 million, which will benefit children’s hospitals and other charities throughout the U.S. To find a local IHOP or to donate online, visit www.ihoppancakeday.com.

For centuries, the English have ‘flipped’ for pancakes in celebration of Shrove Tuesday, which heralds the beginning of fasting during Lent. Long ago, strict rules prohibited the eating of all dairy products during Lent so pancakes were made to use up the supply of eggs, milk, butter and other dairy products . . . hence the name Pancake Tuesday.

WHY: It’s for the kids! For every delicious short stack of buttermilk pancakes served on National Pancake Day, IHOP guests are invited to make a donation to Children’s Miracle Network.

WHEN: TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 24, 2009, 7 a.m. – 10 p.m.

WHERE: At participating IHOP Restaurants. The Keyport and Neptune IHOP’s will both be participating in this event. The Keyport IHOP is located at 106 Route 36 and the Neptune IHOP is located at 2200 Route 66.
