Come join The Collaborative Act Studio for our newest, most exciting and quite possibly
most bohemian addition to the company yet.... our FREE PLAY READING SERIES!
What is a play reading series and how does it work?
Four times a year TCAS will meet at The Fusion Performing Arts Center with scripts, chairs, and an open mind. The first half of the evening is a reading of a previously selected play, some new, some old. No sets or props or running around the stage. Most readers, unless stated otherwise, will be assigned at random the night of the event. NO ACTING EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. Honest. However, if you wish to attend but do not want to participate in the reading, all you have to do is simply state, in confidence, that you prefer to be an active observer.
The second half of the evening will be an open discussion. Questions such as "What was the author's intent?" and "How hard do you think it would be to produce this work?" are sure to arise. Or occasionally, “I'm sorry, I kept my mind open, but apparently that let the play go in one ear and out the other - what was it supposed to be about?!”
The evening is open to all: theatre aficionados, theatre fans, plumbers, nurses, bag boys, doctors, lawyers, Indian Chiefs, writers, directors, stage managers, politicians, even actors… in other words… Everyone is encouraged to attend! Besides, there's never anything good on TV anymore.
Just email Collaborative_Act_Studio@comcast.net with the number of seats to be held in your name for each reading.
We look forward to exploring these works with you!
