March 1&15, 10am 4pm, $160.+20. Supplies

Prior to this workshop you will visit the Philadelphia Museum of Art to see the enormously popular traveling exhibition Frida Kahlo. You will be supplied with questions to consider as you look at her wonderful autobiographical paintings, which are rich with personal symbolism. (Ticket to be purchased on your own)) In the studio we will discuss and be inspired by Fridas paintings. Using short writing assignments you will investigate a little of your own story and then create you personal symbolic self-portraits using collage and acrylic paint. No portrait painting experience necessary!

Workshops in painting, collage and assemblage are offered in my studio for individuals and small groups from beginners to artists of all levels. Each hands on studio session is enriched by demonstration and guided looking at images from modern and contemporary art.
