16300 Mcdowell Mountain Park Dr.
Fountain Hills, Arizona 85269

There is no better way to experience the desert in summer than on a night hike. The oppressive heat of the day is all but a memory, and animals emerge after siesta-ing the day away. Join Ranger Amy to experience the desert "come alive" by the light of the moon at McDowell Mountain Regional Park. September is often called the "Harvest Moon", as it is closest to the autumnal equinox. Flashlights are not necessary, but permitted. Bring plenty of water and sturdy shoes. Hiking time is 2 hours, and 3 miles. No pets please. Hikes begin at the Trailhead Staging area. Moonlit hike programs are free with $6/vehicle entry to the Park.
