Funk Lab started in the mid nineties as a mission to create funky electro beats now has become a staple of the funky/electro Florida sound. There was a blending and fusing of funky breaks and electro beats which later became known as the Funk Lab. With influences coming from their efforts as DJs within the breaks community, the two had been immersed within the sound that they had come to love. With a diverse back catalog ranging from Florida style funky breaks to the darker, moodier electro, the Funk Lab has engaged a variety of listeners from both the US and abroad.

Bringing you that sweet homegrown Florida Funk Style with their new digital album release; Sound of Red. AFCO-SKYNET, is one of Florida’s longest running Dj Duos, Break Beat producers and Florida funk Re-Mixers. Currently residents of Sarasota. These two talents are known for their unique style of high energy dance mixes with positive tones and good vibes.

Cory Hughes got his start in music at an early age. A Jazz and classical trained musician, Cory entered the world of the music industry at age 16. By age 18 he had played a one night stand at the legendary Carnegie Hall in NYC. After having explored the worlds of jazz, rock, metal, hardcore and everything in between, Cory ended up in the world of EDM. His first true exposure to the Tampa EDM scene took place in clubs such as Ozone, Moongate and Boatyard Village in the mid 1990s. He began to write music, DJ, and perform live shows throughout the state under the name DJ Mercury. He released his first 12", the "United Voices" EP in 1998 on the U-Turn record label. Shortly after, he started his own label, Wall2Wall Records where he enjoyed the success of singles such as "I Wanna Rock" and "Defenders of the Funk". He later took part in opening Sarasota's only underground record store, Ground Xero Records, making hard to find records available to everyone. After taking a hiatus from the music industry for several years, Cory is back writing the best tracks of his career. He has recently completed numerous remixes for well known artists Funk Lab, Superfly Jeff & Shakka and Andy Hughes. Having made Funk Lab Records his new home, keep an eye out for new original tracks and remixes in the very near future!.
