Gavilan College Presents SEUSSICAL JR. July 19, 2008

Who & What: The Gavilan College Summer Theatre Arts Repertory (S.T.A.R.) Program is one of the best summer programs available for youth living in the South Valley. Over the past 23 years, STAR has become a summer tradition for many families and an important part of hundreds of children’s lives.

This summer, STAR Gilroy proudly present SEUSSICAL JR., a fantastic musical journey featuring Horton the Elephant and many other favorite Dr. Seuss characters, including The Cat In the Hat, Gertrude McFuzz, Lazy Mayzie, the Wickersham Brothers, and all of the Whos of Whoville!

This Gavilan College STAR production is directed by Javier Hurtado with a cast of over 70 children, ages 8 through 16. SEUSSICAL JR. was co-conceived by Lynn Ahrens, Stephen Flaherty, and Eric Idle, and is based on the works of Dr. Seuss. With music by Stephen Flaherty and lyrics by Lynn Ahrens, the score is a wonderful Seussian mix of musical styles, ranging from Latin to pop, swing to gospel, and R&B to funk!

Where & When: STAR performances of SEUSSICAL JR. are on Friday, July 18, 2008 and Saturday, July 19, 2008, at 7:30 PM, in the Gavilan College Theater on the Gavilan College Main Campus, located at 5055 Santa Teresa Blvd., in Gilroy, CA.

Cost: Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for students and seniors, and $8 for children 12 years & under.
