The Charities Act 2009 has ushered in a new era of regulation, accountability and transparency for community and voluntary organisations. Now is the time to prepare for the full commencement of the Act by reviewing your organisation's governance arrangements and practice.

Getting to Grips with Governance is a workshop and training programme developed by The Wheel to support directors, board members, senior administrators, trustees and managers of charities as they apply the key principles of good governance.

This workshop will help you and your organisation to:

develop a better understanding of the functions, roles and responsibilities of a governing body

learn about potential liabilities of a governing body

reflect on the development and improvement of good governance practice
