Attention all runners, recreational or competitive: Come on out to southern Warren County, Virginia for the Shenandoah Valley's most scenic road running race! The 11th running of the Greasy-Gooney 10K will take place at 9:00 AM on Saturday 24 October 2009 in Browntown, about eight miles south of Front Royal. Held at the peak of the fall foliage season, our somewhat challenging 6.2 mile course loops through the foothills of the Blue Ridge, treating runners to gorgeous views of the mountains and countryside. You needn't run the race competitively, but we will have awards for the top three overall and for the top three in mostly five-year age groups. Entry fees are $28 with a short-sleeve performance fabric shirt or $12 without one, with a $1 discount for members of the Shenandoah Valley Runners. Runners of all abilities are welcome to participate! For more information, visit the Greasy-Gooney 10K Web pages at http://user.shentel.net/karsten/gg10k/!
