One of Rhode Island's premiere birding locations is the 3,349-acres Great Swamp Management Area, comprised of impoundments, swamps, forest, and agricultural lands. The Great Swamp Impoundment, 138 acres of marsh, will be one of the birding highlights as we search for a large variety of ducks, raptors, and early migrants. The trails will lead us into mixed upland habitats, providing opportunities to watch feeding - woodpeckers, bluebirds, kingbirds, warblers, and vireos. Spring birdsongs will fill the air, providing a chance to learn to identify various species by voice. - - Open to everyone age 16 and older. Registration is required. Call 781-259-2200 for details.
