Have you taken a class and you're ready to play songs with other instruments? Join the Americana Ensemble and get some experience playing with mandolin players, fiddlers, guitarists, vocalists, and more. Singer-songwriters, join us if you'd like to work on arrangements of your songs with a band. All instruments are welcome. Students should have basic knowledge about the different chords and how to play their instrument.

Have you always wanted to learn how to play the Blues? Join the Blues Ensemble and get some experience playing with others; we will cover basic blues progressions, chords, rhythms, scales and more in a way that is both educational and fun. We will listen to and learn from some of the men and women who invented this uniquely American form of folk music, many of whom played right down stairs at the historic Club 47.

This class is open to fiddle, guitar and piano. In this class, we will explore the role of both melody players and accompanists, but more importantly the relationship between these two. We will learn a group of tunes from the Scottish, Irish and Cape Breton traditions and discuss the arranging process as we collaborate on our material.
This class is recommended for intermediate-advanced fiddlers with a fair amount of repertoire. For accompanists, knowledge of chords and keys will be expected and you should be able to read through a chord chart.
