Your personally-guided tour will view 16 rooms of this opulent mansion. Please allow at least one hour for your tour. Today the gilt frame mirrors hanging over original marble mantels, still reflect the elaborate gasoliers and elegantly furnished parlors. The Grand Salon is considered by architectural historians to be the most elaborate domestic interior built in antebellum Tennessee. The gardens, now maintained as part of the college campus, contain marble statuary and the largest collection of 19th century cast iron garden ornaments in the United States, including five cast iron gazebos.

I still wear a suit and tie and my GF loves an excuse for a new outfit. I'd rather have people go casually than not go, but I do prefer to dress well for special events and opera is always a special event for me.

I've never been to the opera! My first opera! I'm going to dress all fancy-like. (I'll probably be the only person dressed all fancy-like... people don't do that anymore, do they?)
