The Bergen County Historical Society opens its fall lecture series on September 23rd in the Second Reformed Church with Terry Golway, Director of the John Kean Center for American History at Kean University, presenting 'Headline News: The Life and Transformation of the Great American Newspaper.' Mr. Golway will display a traveling exhibit featuring reproductions of some of the most famous headlines in the history of American journalism from Lincoln's assassination to the moon landing with many interesting stops along the way. The three landscape panels, 30 x 40, feature reproductions of newspapers collected and preserved at Liberty Hall Museum at Kean University. Professor Golway will discuss newspaper history and reflect on his career as a journalist. He co-curated the exhibit with Pat Lauro, a journalism professor at Kean. The Bergen County Historical Society is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) volunteer organization, founded in 1902 to develop public appreciation for Bergen County's remarkable history.
