HerbFest, 2008 April 18, 2008

HerbFest 2008. http://www.herbfest.net, will be here for the 10th consecutive year and is expanding from 3 days to a full 10 days. The first weekend will be the usual with WPTF Weekend Gardener appearing live and broadcasting their gardening show.

Franklin Academy Jazz band will perform, the daily "duck parade", puppet show for the kids and many live entertainers and musicians. Of course it's all free to the public.

The second weekend will be live performances by Bull City Syndicate, Jessica Ray Band ( winner of GJCAE Battle of Bands contest ), and the Josh Jackson Trio.

Of course throughout the festival the largest selection of rare and unusual herb and perennial plants on the East Coast. Learn the secrets of the herbal lifestyle so you can enjoy sipping a glass of chardonnay scented with Sweet Woodruff, lavender ice cream and mint tea.

HerbFest is about lifestyle and this year much of the emphasis will be on "drought landscaping" or in the herb world it's called " Meditteranean Herbs". Herbs that require little water, eco conscious plantings and enhance one's life with simplicty of care, mutliple uses, and greenwise.
