It isn’t too late to register your school or community group for the 14th Annual Hike for Hunger to benefit the Vermont Campaign to End Childhood Hunger. The Hike is a great event for youth and adults of all ages as it fosters team building while also teaching participants about the importance of healthy lifestyles and community stewardship.
The way the Hike works is that each school or group across the state picks a day in October and location that works best for their participants to do a hike (a local mountain, trail, or neighborhood). Once the group lets the Campaign know the date, location, and number of participants, we can send a Hike packet with stickers, posters, pledge sheets, and our educational materials which can be used to teach hikers about the issue of hunger and the importance of good nutrition. Leading up to the Hike date, while hikers learn about hunger and nutrition as a group, they also share this information with their community as they collect pledges in support of their Hike for Hunger.
