"How to Find Happiness in Today's World"
Join one of Tibetan Buddhism's most revered masters, His Eminence Garchen Triptul Rinpoche, as he offers an introduction to Buddhist ideas, discussing the true nature of happiness and a path toward it.
H.E. Garchen Rinpoche is a Drikung Kagyu lama who is widely recognized to have attained profound insight and realization. As a child, he was found by the King of Nangchen, Kham, in eastern Tibet, as the reincarnation of the 7th Gar Tinley Yonkyab. Rinpoche was recognized and enthroned by His Holiness the late Drikung Kyabgon Shiwei Lodoe.
At the age of 22, having completed a two and a half year retreat, the Chinese invaed Tibet. Rinpoche joined the Tibetan resistance fighters and was subsequently imprisoned for more than 20 years, enduring horrifying conditions. He practiced the Buddha’s teachings secretly while imprisoned and emerged a Realized Being. He then risked his life to preserve the living tradition of the path to enlightenment. Now a renowned teacher worldwide and an important figure in Tibetan Buddhism, Rinpoche’s life exemplifies love as the way of being that transforms suffering into a glorious result. Because of his vast realization, loving kindness, humility and humor, Garchen Rinpoche has students from all over the world.
