One of the most unique, unconventional and inventive horror films ever made, this candy-coloured '70s nightmare was director Obayashi's debut after a career in television advertising, and was written by his seven year-old daughter. Seven girls arrive at a countryside mansion during their summer vacation and all hell breaks loose. Attacks on the girls happen as quickly as you can name the crisscrossing of genres. The finale is a non-stop barrage of pop-art insanity and pre-digital special effects. A truly weird and hilarious visual assault!
