Every year over 1,500 volunteers share their time, talent, and blessings at the Illinois Relief Sale to help alleviate suffering at home and abroad. This year Central Illinois celebrates its 53rd Annual Relief Sale. The first Illinois Sale was on March 21, 1959 at the Angus Sale Barn in Congerville and realized a net income of $5,000. In 1966 the Illinois Sale was moved to Peoria's Exposition Gardens, and from 1983 through 1997 the Sale was held in Peoria's Civic Center. Since 1998, the sale has been at the Interstate Center in Bloomington, Illinois.
