Improv Thunderdome Season 2, Round 1 June 28, 2008

Thunderdome pits nine teams of local improvisers against each other in a four month battle. Each team will get 30 minutes to prove their worthiness. Audiences will decide each month which team shall move on to the championship match in September. There is currently nothing else like this being done in Kansas City.

This month's match-up.

BABEL FISH - (Patrick Craft, Joe Henley, Nathan Stewart & Jim Sturgill)
The Babel Fish have returned to war and they plan on killing the audience. They'll Blitzkrieg your senses, bombard your funny bone, and stab your brother. Hold on to the edge of your seat, because it will probably be nationalized later on and removed by force.

THE MAKESHIFT MILITIA - (Ryan Meharry, Anthony Merchant & James Nelson)
Fresh from their second-place finish in Season 1, The Makeshift Militia is ready to compete again. The Militia, a self-created self-directed troupe, is the flagship team of college improv in Kansas City. They are irreverent, outrageous, and relentless, and they aren't afraid to do the kind of improv that others can't handle. Simply put, the Makeshift Militia ain't nothing to mess with.

SOME TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES - (Allie Brown, Chris Fuston, Kristie Kirk, Laura Irwin, Amy McGiffin, Matt Messina, Elizabeth Standler, Aron Wallis & Tim White)
Some Technical Difficulties' brand of improv is like a roaring locomotive of funny. These veterans of Liberty's Exit 16 make such a good ensemble that vagabonds and degenerates agree, "you gotta see this!"
