Lifters from Scotland to Lift at the 2006 Senior Metropolitan Weightlifting Championships
Saturday -- October 28, 2006

The famous Kilwinning Weightlifting Team of Kilwinning Scotland will be lifting at Lost Battalion Hall, 93-29 Queens Blvd
Rego Park NY 11374 from 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM at the Senior Metropolitan Championships. The team is skillfully coached by Scottish master weightlifting champion Bill Despard and his son Gavin Despard.
Kliwinning Weightlifting Team members have medaled in several national competitions in Scotland, outperforming other more established United Kingdom teams. The Kilwinning Weightlifting Team is composed of male and female junior, senior, and master lifters.
In total there will be 14 lifters from Scotland lifting. Many will be junior lifters and will be dispersed throughout the morning session.
Coach Joe Triolo, meet director, and the members of the Lost Battalion Hall Weightlifting Team look forward to meeting and competing with their brother team from across the Atlantic and showing them some real NYC hospitality. Let's all show up at this upcoming competition and support both teams in this historic meeting.
The Metropolitan Weightlifting Championships is the top contest in New York City. Depending upon their performance, lifters can then compete in the USA National Championships.
Be sure to be there October 28, 2006 at Lost Battalion Hall.
Lifting to start at 10:00 AM through approximately 6:00 PM.

The Lost Battalion Hall (LBH) Olympic Weightlifting Facility is conveniently located on Queens Blvd. It is two blocks east from the Queens Center Mall and two blocks west from the Sears Mall.
