In recognition of Prostate Awareness Month, Iredell Health System’s Community Wellness Department will be providing community screenings for prostate cancer on Friday, September 11, 2009 from 9:00-1:00pm at the facility’s Morrison Plantation location.

Preceded only by skin cancer, prostate cancer is the most common cancer afflicting the male population and the second leading cause of cancer death in men. Unfortunately, signs and symptoms may not show up until the disease has progressed, stressing the importance of early detection.

In addition to prostate specific antigen (PSA) screenings, free blood pressure checks will be offered and colorectal kits made available.

For more information, please call 704-878-4550.

At Iredell Health System, we are dedicated to helping you live a longer, healthier life. We invite you to take the first step and join us for these screenings. This will give you the information you need to make an informed decision about your health and ways that we can help you improve it.
