JAYCEES HELP RETURN A WONDERFUL ETHNIC
Living up to their time-tested history of the Great JAYCEE Creed ... 'Service To Humanity Is The Best Work Of Life!', The Kent County Junior Chamber would like to Congratulate their West Warwick JAYCEES and Chapter Members for helping to coordinating the return of the St. Joseph Day Ceremony in the Pawtuxet Valley.
Interacting with the Kent County Order of the Sons of Italy in America and its Vince Lombardi Lodge # 2375, the JAYCEES were extremely pleased to follow their pattern of what has been an extraordinary recognition program for area wide ethnic organizations and their diverse membership via the annual JAYCEES Community Cultural Citizens Awards (CCC-A)Ceremonies.
Since its long absence within the aggregate Pawtuxet Valley for nearly twelve (12) years, - the last being emphasized within the leadership of former state Senator Jenny Day, the late Council President of W. Warwick, Carl Brown and his colleague former Councilman Bob Moorehead and others - the reemergence of a beautiful and meaningful spiritual and cultural event as St. Joseph Day, is a fine addition to the yearly hosts of such treasured ethnic events as the St. Patrick's Day Parade, the The Holy Ghost Society's Festival, The Franco-American Dinner and the Polish-American Summer Festival , to name just a few.
The JAYCEES are very grateful to John J. "Jack" Lancellotta, our Executive Director of the JAYCEE Education & Library Flundation and Adminsitartor for the Kent County Junior Chamber, in bringing a request to the Vince Lombardi Lodge for such consideration. We appreciate the commitment by Lodge President Rita Johnson and her Board in suppprting this reconstitued event and the invaluable service of Lodge Members, (Councilwoman) Phyllis Raimondo-Gustafson and (State Lodge 3rd Vice President) Joseph Florio, Jr..
Likewise, The JAYCEES extend their deepest appreciation to Rev, Fr. B. Samuel Turillo, Pastor Emeritus of Sacred Heart Church in the Natick Village of W. Warwick, Town Clerk Debbie Tellier and her staff for issuing the St. Joseph Day Proclamation, Arthur "A.J." Brown for his tireless and extensive contributions to this event and overall community, along with Lodge member(s) Mary Ricci and Phyllis Gustafson for their culinary Italian flavor, the support of Joann 's Bakery, the beautiful soprano voice of JAYCEE Kathy Marye-Holloway and her husband, Daniel of the W. Warwick JAYCEES (helping with photography & the flag-waving), Judi T Dance Studios in complementing some quality Italian sounds, the management of the Town of W. Warwick for its facilities, NBC 10 and the local neswpaper, Kent County Daily TIMES in its promotional mode. " Bouna La Festa di San Giuseppe "
The JAYCEES (being a worldwide leadership training institution since its inception in America in 1920, has been a beacon of global vision and entrepreneurial production in graduating so many outstanding young people and international mentors that have been tremendous citizens in their many phases of public, private and personal livelihood for the betterment of humanity.
