Riders
Artwork by Jean Pierre Arboleda
March 29 through April 26, 2008
Opening Reception: Saturday, March 29th, 7-10pm
Exploring primal urges, Jean Pierre Arboleda creates a chaotic world depicting creatures fighting for dominance. Devoid of rational thought, these brutes frantically and viciously struggle for sex and territory. Smaller animals harness larger ones, using them as vehicles
to conquer one another. The battling figures explode with rich color and high craftsmanship.
Arboleda's affinity for creatures and the evolving relationships between them can be drawn from his roots. He was born and raised in Ecuador-neighbor to the Galapagos Islands. Currently based in New York City, he has shown extensively throughout the area as well
as nationally.
