Jazz songwriter Julia Barry will bring her original music to Headroom Stages on May 9, 2012, as part of a feminist lineup presented by The Women's Freedom Center of Brattleboro, VT. This performance is included in Barry's spring tour and partially sponsored by organic bread company, Young Bread Works.
Barry's music has received praise from music blogs, magazines, and industry personnel, acclaimed as “soulful, jazzy and deep” (Independent Music Scene), “poetic and haunting” (This Is Real Music), and “lush, rich….enigmatic” (Harmony Avenue).
Opening guest, Nehemiah Luckett is a composer and talent who recently wrapped up as Music Assistant for NY Broadway's Porgy & Bess. Local women performers will start off the evening.
