The next Kashin Zen discussion will take place this coming Wednesday, Nov. 1, at 7 p.m. at the zendo.
Topic: pp. 18-19 (Case 4: The World-Honored One Points to the Earth) of The Book of Equanimity: Illuminating Classic Koans, by Gerry Shishin Wick. We’ll have a copy of the reading available for anyone who does not have the book. The reading can also be accessed via Amazon’s “search inside the book” function.
The discussion group meets every other week (more or less). Meetings begin with 1/2 hour of informal zazen (i.e., the door is left open for latecomers). The discussion itself begins around 7:30 p.m. and runs to about 9 p.m. Newcomers welcome.
The zendo is located at 7006 East Ave. in Chevy Chase in a renovated gray garage. This is about a ten-minute walk from the Bethesda Metro stop: walk south on Wisconsin, take a left on Leland St., then right on East Ave. The zendo will be the first building on the right.
