Synopsis:
KNF is “theatre in the rough.” A few cubes. Some actors. A lot of theatrical magic. It is theatre at its rawest and most visceral form: emerging artists sketching out innovative, new ideas before hitting the proverbial boards in full-out production. With 12 original works ranging from American dystopias to one-woman eulogies to Shakespearean spoofs, KNF’s first-look series is a strong contrast to the average short work festival or 24-hour marathon. With work from dynamic new talent and presentations by some of NYC’s most promising young companies, including Flux Theatre Ensemble and Project: Theater, KNF’s fall line-up draws a hard line on only one point: showcasing first-rate storytelling about ordinary people in extraordinary situations.
