A native of Duxbury, MA, Kevin Hubbard began playing the guitar at age 18, dividing his energies among rock, jazz and classical styles. His formal training has included private lessons with former student of Julian Bream, Hugh Geoghegan; arch guitar pioneer Peter Blanchette; jazz guitarist David Paulson and John Damian; and award-winning composer and jazz guitarist Whitman Brown. During the late nineties, Kevin began to focus on the Spanish-style classical guitar, studying with the Boston-area guitarist John Muratore, and attending an Eliot Fisk-hosted master class in Granada, Spain. In the Spring of 2002, Kevin received a Bachelor of Arts degree in music (magna cum laude) form the University of Massachusetts, where he studied with the highly acclaimed acoustic guitarist Peter Janson.
