The exhibit, one of the largest expansions in the zoo's 115 year history, features an impressive list of birds and reptiles. Visitors will see the imposing Double-wattled Cassowary, the world's most dangerous bird. While not a reptile, the cassowary looks as much like a dinosaur as anything on the planet. The reptile list for this new expansion includes a 12' King Cobra, a 21' Reticulated Python (personally measured by National Geographic's Dr. Brady Barr), Lace Monitors, Crocodile Monitors, Green Tree Pythons, Knob-tailed Geckos, Centralian Carpet Pythons, Black-headed Pythons, Temple Vipers, and of course a beautiful Komodo Dragon. In addition to the Cassowary, the birds include: Palawan Peacock pheasants, Kookaburras, Palm Cockatoo, Red-sided Eclectus and more.
