Las Vegas Singers and Songwriters "restart" meeting April 28, 2007

I will try to restart this group. We now potentially have a combined membership over 100, when you include the Las Vegas Singers and Songwriters MEETUP / MYSPACE groups ( http://vocalists.meetup.com/123/ --- http://groups.myspace.com/LVSS )

There will be a two hour group "restart" meeting on Saturday, April 28 at 2:30pm in the upstairs right "Boardroom" at the Sahara West Library. Parking entrances are 1/2 block east or 1/2 block north of the intersection of Sahara and Grand Canyon (between Ft Apache and Hualapai).

You may bring an acoustic or acoustic/electric instrument and a favorite microphone/cable(s) if you want. I will bring a compact Roland AC60 acoustic amp, a small mixer, and one mic stand. I would strongly suggest that you put name/phone labels on instrument, case, bag or cables you may bring.

I would like your input about what you want to get out of this group, what are the best days, hours, and locations for future meetings, etc. I would also request that those with organization skills contact me about volunteering their skills and suggestions for the group/meeting.

I suggest that you take a look. The link above is my vision of what the group should be about. However, I think there are many other possibilities that I hope you will share with others by replying to this post or by sending email to my LVSS email account below. I would also like to get email from everyone who plans to attend to make planning easier.

I would estimate that a maximum of 30 people can be accommodated at the library's [I don't know why they call it] "Boardroom". My guess is that 10-15 people will show up for this first meeting of 2007. For future meetings, a larger conference room may also be available if it looks like more than 30 members will decide to participate.

You may bring your own [nonalcoholic] drinks and snacks, but if you do, bring along your own plastic bag to carry out any packaging, etc. when you leave. We need to leave the room clean when the meeting is over.
