Bozeman Photoshop Users Group invites you to Part 1, Learning the Lightroom Workspace.
Explore the benefits of working in the Lightroom interface at our upcoming Photoshop Users Group meeting, Tuesday January 8th. Why use Lightroom when you have Adobe Camera Raw? Our instructor, Lark Gilmer-Smothermon will inspire you to see the benefits. Get acquainted with the Lightroom workspace and how it is designed to walk you through a non-destructive workflow practice from importing through performing global and local adjustments. Learn the distinction between global and local adjustments.
At February’s BPUG learn how Lightroom provides options for output including books, slideshows, prints, and web galleries as part of the program. Lark will also introduce you to shooting “tethered.” One of the main reasons to use Lightroom is the ability to shoot directly from camera to the laptop. If you've never shot tethered before, this will rock your world.
Why are we so excited about Lark teaching for us? She has both a MFA and impressive professional experience, has worked internationally, spending 30 years as a high-end advertising photographer and Photography Director. She offers a wealth of technical prowess, an innate understanding on how an image needs to perform in today’s world, along with loads of of creative chutzpah. Honed from years of assisting leading photographers in Europe and working with a variety of wonderful clients, Lark’s versatility with subject and light enables her to cross genres effortlessly. She has been given commissions like shooting the crown jewels and the chateaux in the Loire valley. In a nutshell, photography is Lark’s passion, its what she lives and breathes.
Get to know her, and Lightroom, at our January and February BPUG meetings for the amazing investment of just $5 a meeting. Then get prepared to show up for more of the winter Lightroom classes and workshops Lark will teach.
