The Lifelong Learning Society at FAU Jupiter will hold its summer semester from Wednesday, May 20 – Thursday, July 9. Classes will take place in the Lifelong Learning Complex at Florida Atlantic University’s John D. MacArthur Campus, 5353 Parkside Drive, Jupiter.
The Lifelong Learning program will offer four summer courses:
• “Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow,” a four week course taught by Myrna Goldberger, an educational entertainer. This course will focus on the news and issues of today, and how they are connected to events in the past.
• “Third Summer Film Festival,” taught by Dr. Benito Rakower. One-of-a-kind films in the categories of noir, comedy and romance will be shown and discussed.
• “Music from a Drummer’s Perspective: A Musical Demonstration & Discussion of Modern Musical Styles,” taught by Dr. Louis Abbott. This four week course will illustrate the multiple functions of the drummer/percussionist through live demonstrations and audio/visual presentations.
• “The Art & Process of Journaling: Discovering Yourself on the Page,” taught by Minx Boren, a lifelong journal keeper and a Master Certified Coach, credentialed through the International Coach Federation. She will teach a variety of basic tips and techniques of journaling.
