Jennifer Monson will be in conversation with Katherine Clarke on Wednesday 23rd July, at 7pm, at the Grant Museum of Zoology, UCL.
Jennifer is a choreographer and director of ilandart, whose work includes BIRD BRAIN, a navigational dance project following the migrations of animals and Katherine Clarke is a partner in muf architecture/art, currently creating a feral arcadia on Beckton Alp.

The conversation will explore the process by which ideas of ecology and sustainability are mapped onto practice in order to refine a more critical engagement with the world.
“Although the outcomes of our different practices, dance and art/ architecture, may diverge, there are intriguing overlaps of enquiry, particularly in relation to perceptions of embodiment and spatial occupation”.

This conversation is part of London Dance International an annual initiative presented by Chisenhale Dance Space, Greenwich Dance Agency and Independent Dance which aims to provide professional dancers advanced level training opportunities for dance artists. Over the space of the 3 weeks Jennifer Monson, Russell Maliphant and David Zambrano, will lead workshop intensives exploring the movement principles and creative processes that underpin their work. Each artist will also engage in a live debate around interests represented in their artistic practice.
