Do you love dolphins? No, really, do you love dolphins? If so, then you need to see this film.

Dolphins can be seen at aquariums and marine theme parks around the world, delighting audiences with their mastery of tricks and acrobatics. But  do we ever ask ourselves where all these dolphins came from? What is the life of a captive dolphin like? What is the price they pay for our enjoyment?

"A FALL FROM FREEDOM" asks whether, knowing now how intelligent and sensitive dolphins are, it is still ethical to keep them in captivity for the purpose of entertaining us. It exposes the connection between the trade in live dolphins for aquariums and marine theme parks and the horrible slaughter of dolphins in Taiji, Japan.

"A FALL FROM FREEDOM" also covers the controversy around keeping killer whales ("Shamu") in parks like SeaWorld, in light of the 2010 death of killer whale trainer, Dawn Brancheau.

After the film, we have a guest speaker: Dr. Naomi Rose, Senior Scientist for Humane Society
International. She is an expert on a wide variety of marine mammal issues, including whaling, dolphin captivity, and eco-tourism. She'll be available to answer questions from the audience. It should be a fascinating Q&A.

Tickets are on sale now and the profits will be donated to Ric O'Barry's Dolphin Project. Ric's team travels around the world to negotiate for the release of dolphins held in inhumane conditions.

Doors open at 6:30 and the film begins at 7:30.
