Malalo o ka Po Lani, "Under the Night Sky," is a monthly program devoted to exploring the interconnections between Hawaiian culture, science, and arts. Each month, a different cultural practitioner joins hosts Manu Josiah and Leilehua Yuen, in sharing perspectives on a variety of topics.
This month, Terri Napeahi, Kanaka Maoli artist, and the owner of fine art gallery Papa Mu, comes to Maunakea to join Manu and Leilehua in exploring how the Hawaiian night sky served as a navigational chart for the ancestors of today's Kanaka Maoli.
Join them for an evening of Hawaiian music, chants, stories, and science. Learn a little about the Hawaiian lunar calendar and the Hawaiian constellations of summer, then see them for yourself at the free star party on the Onizuka VIS lanai.
