In 1638 Margaret Brent fled religious persecution in Britain and landed in St. Mary’s City. Margaret Brent would lead a remarkable life helping the fledgling colony and the local natives. If you don’t know who this lady is, you should! Margaret Brent, the first woman in America to ask for the right to vote, was outspoken and educated – something women were not suppose to be in the seventeenth-century! Meet this amazing colonist who was the first female landowner in Maryland, as well as the first women lawyer.

Portrayed by Mary Ann Jung, an award-winning actress/Smithsonian Scholar who has appeared on CNN, Good Morning America and CBS Good Morning.
