What historical factors worsen fear of aging? Based on her newly released book, Agewise, Margaret observes that social trends can increase (or decrease) fear of aging. Despite the longevity revolution and the "encore careers" that some privileged people enjoy, Americans are aging-past-youth in an era particularly hostile to this universal human process.
