Navratri means nine times the fun! It's time for festivity, fellowship and feasting as the daily vrat fast gives way to a nightly round of delicacies, dandiya and delightful celebrations. Nine days of devotion and spiritual renewal, and nine days of party time too as family and friends get together in the evenings for fun, festive cheer and great food!
To get into the true spirit of this feast-fast-festival, you've got to feast the right way. There are lots of no-nos for vrat food, with spicy food, various types of grains and vegetables and much more being given the miss. Then there's the delightful Kele ki Chaat and delicious desserts like Makhane ki Kheer (lotus seeds pudding). Fasting has never tasted so good!
