The Matt Flinner Trio will be performing at the Atlas Theater starting at 7:30 p.m. Matt is one of the premierist mandolin players in the United States and is hailed as a virtuoso in acoustic music circles. Two time winner of the prestigious Walnut Valley Festival in Winfield, Kansas, Matt's roots in bluegrass and acoustic music performance propelled him into the spotlight while still a teen. The year he graduated from high school, he went on tour with grammy award winner Tim O'Brien throughout Europe. He continued his musical studies through the University of Utah at Salt Lake and conducted musical ensembles, playing neo-classical, jazz, new wave acoustic and virtually any other music he could find. He was commissioned to write a musical score for Utah Public Broadcast System's original series on the Black Fork River and has toured extensively with guitar wizard David Grier and bass master Todd Phillips. His solo albums for Compass Records have won critical acclaim and feature Todd Phillips, David Grier, Jerry Douglas, Stuart Duncan and Darol Anger. Matt's playing is always fresh and takes every audience on a musical journey guarenteed to delight the most critical ear.

Get your tickets early because there are only 238 seats at the Atlas Theater and last year, the show was sold out two weeks prior to the event. You can get tickets by calling 307-331-2420 or e-mailing atlasconcerts@yahoo.com
