Fiery and exciting group of musicians with a huge range of music, from the Gnawa music of the south Moroccan desert,
popular North African rai and chaabi songs, exotic Middle Eastern and Turkish melodies and improvisations,
through Central Asia, and across to the fiery Tango of Argentina and the street Choro of Brazil,
taking in the occasional Balkan tune and jazz number on the way…….
All their music is given fresh new arrangements, and much space for jazz-influenced improvisations …..
Formed in 2009 by world music and jazz cellist Shirley Smart, they are fast becoming a popular band on
London’s world music scene – catch them while you can!!!

They are joined on this occasion by distinguished Kurdish singer Cigdem Aslan
